Skiscanner – ski report 17/03/09

Welcome to Skiscanner – Skyscanner’s regular ski report, letting you know where in the world the best snow is falling and how to get there. So grab your goggles, book a flight and head for the hills!

snow.ice.icicles.roof.JPGThe overall situation in the Alps is that mild spring weather has arrived in the east, whilst snowier, colder conditions still remain in the west.

Canada has received new snowfalls providing some excellent skiing, whereas the majority of resorts in the USA are now experiencing spring conditions.

Austria – snow has fallen across the Austrian Alps over the weekend meaning excellent conditions are one offer with some powder to be found off pistes.

Italy – blue skies and sun dominate most of Italy’s ski resorts at the moment and thanks to the exceptionally heavy snowfalls that have fallen this season, excellent spring skiing is on offer.

Canada – following a somewhat patchy season, recent snowfalls across most of Canada means powder is back on the menu for many resorts, and Whistler are expecting over a meter of snow by the end of the week.

Best of the rest:

Bulgaria – resorts have received snow over the weekend and more is expected this week.

Norway – resorts have had a small top up of snow, and many still have deep bases

France – bright and sunnier weather is denting the snow base but it does mean you can top up on your slope side tan!
