All business-class carrier Silverjet has announced a seat deal to help accommodate Eos passengers.

The UK-based airline is to offer Eos customers the opportunity to book Silverjet flights from New York’s Newark Airport to London Luton for the same price paid for original tickets. Those passengers looking to take advantage of the Silverjet deal must book before 19:00 (EST) on May 7th.

The offer follows Eos’s bankruptcy application on Sunday. The business class airline suspended all services this weekend, with customers unable to travel back to the UK from New York.

Rising fuel costs and other pressures have brought several airlines into difficulties this year, with the industry responding through increased consolidation.

Cathay Pacifc stepped in to provide flights after Oasis Hong Kong Airlines suspended services earlier this month.

A merger has already been announced between the two largest US airlines, Delta and Northwest. With the rumoured merger between Continental and United now unlikely, a United and US Airways deal is said to be close to being finalised.

On the European front, Air Berlin is seeking a deal with low-cost German carrier Condor in a bid to enlarge its long-distance flight business, which it runs since the acquisition of LTU.
