Ryanair introduces smokeless cigarettes on flights

Ryanair is launching a range of smokeless cigarettes, allowing passengers to 'smoke' while on a flight

Cheap flights carrier Ryanair is launching a range of smokeless cigarettes, allowing passengers to ‘smoke’ while on a flight.

This means that smoker passengers can receive their nicotine hit without having to light up while on an aircraft.

With smoking on commercial airlines having been illegal since the early 1990s, Ryaniar has now introduced Similar Smokeless Cigarettes, which deliver a small amount of nicotine through inhalation.

They look and feel like a real cigarette but passengers will not be required to light them.

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara explained that the cigarettes deliver a similar amount of nicotine compared to standard cigarettes and will be available in packs of ten.

"As these cigarettes are smokeless they cause no discomfort to other passengers and can ensure a more enjoyable and stress free flight for all passengers as non-smokers will no longer have to cope with moody smokers in need of nicotine," he said.

Earlier this month, Ryanair announced its intention to launch two new bases in Bari and Brindisi from the beginning of next year.
