Ryanair announces Manchester-Frankfurt service

Low-cost carrier Ryanair has announced its latest new route from Manchester Airport.

The airline will launch direct flights to its hub at Frankfurt Hahn from the north-west terminal in October.

Operating four times a week, the new flight takes the number of destinations served by Ryanair at Manchester up to seven. Current direct flights are available to popular European destinations including Marseille, Bremen and Shannon.

Ryanair spokesperson Bridget Dowling commented: "This new route to Frankfurt will operate four times a week will allow an additional 60,000 passengers per annum to enjoy Ryanair’s guaranteed lowest fares from Manchester."

Manchester is shaping up as the destination of choice for budget airlines, with easyJet launching its first flights from the terminal earlier this year.

Since starting operations from Manchester, the carrier has added services to Alicante, Malaga and Crete with further growth anticipated.

Flybe has also increased its flights to and from the north-west with a new service to the Scottish city of Inverness added as part of its summer schedule.
