Swiss Airlines has been rated by passengers as the best short-haul airline operating cheap flights from the UK.
In an online poll carried out by Which?, the carrier received an overall satisfaction rate of 72 percent, with the consumer group’s members asked to rate airlines on baggage allowance, value for money, cabin staff and cleanliness.
Aer Lingus came second in the survey with 71 percent, while Air Malta achieved third position with a score of 68 percent.
Joe Cappello, Air Malta’s chief executive, welcomed the news. He said: "Air Malta has moved seven places; from 10th to 3rd in just one year, leaving much bigger players behind."
Some 5,700 passengers voted in the poll and Rochelle Turner, Which? Holiday’s head of research, said the findings show that factors other than cost are able to leave a lasting impression on airline customers.
Yesterday (June 23rd), Swiss Airlines named its newest Airbus A330-300 aircraft Glarus, with the aircraft to be used on its flights to and from New York.
