Orlando and Houston have emerged as the top onward destinations for transatlantic passengers flying from Bristol International Airport.
A number of passengers are connecting to the cities after flying on Continental Airlines’ route to New York, with Orlando being the top leisure destination and Houston the most popular business city.
Commenting on Continental’s flight, Shaun Brown, Bristol International Airport’s aviation director, said: "Continental’s service doesn’t just make New York accessible, it puts destinations across north and South America within reach of south-west passengers, without the hassle of flying from airports outside the region."
The flight has transported in excess of 250,000 people to New York since it was launched in May 2005, with around half of passengers travelling onwards to a final destination.
Las Vegas and Boston also proved popular for leisure travellers, while Houston and Chicago were well-visited by business passengers.
Bristol was the ninth busiest airport serving the UK in 2007 after it handled 5,926,774 passengers.
