To coincide with this week’s travel tip (Learn some lingo) – we present Omniglot – a guide to the world’s languages.
Don’t be fooled by the modest design – this site is packed full of essential information for those interested in learning a new language or even just wanting a few useful phrases before heading abroad (including essentials such as: “My Hovercraft is full of eels”).
The site is run by language lover Simon Ager, an Englishman who obviously has a way with words being fluent in Mandarin, French, Welsh and Irish and “able to get by” in German, Spanish, Japanese, Scottish Gaelic and Manx.
Omniglot is the place to head before you head off abroad, and should be bookmarked by all serious travellers.
