Passengers taking Air France flights this month will be able to keep up-to-date with all the news from the Olympic Games.
Over the course of August, the airline – which offers flights from France to a number of international destinations – will screen ten-minute sports news bulletins on select routes.
The updates will be produced exclusively for Air France by French company L’Equio TV and shown each morning, featuring highlights from the previous evening’s competitions and events.
Passengers who do not speak French will still be able to enjoy the service, as the bulletins will be broadcast in both French and English.
"Air France is the first airline to screen a sports news bulletin every morning. During the Olympic Games, our customers, two-thirds of whom are international, will be able to follow the performance of their favourite teams and sports," said Patrick Roux, vice president of marketing at Air France.
The Olympic news bulletin forms part of a wider plan by Air France to improve the entertainment programme offered to passengers on long-haul flights.
Flights to Amman, Beirut, Damascus, Yerevan and Tel Aviv will all feature the sports update.
The airline recorded a 1.8 per cent increase in passenger numbers last month, with flights to Asia, the Americas, and Africa and the Middle East proving particularly popular.
