Cheap flights carrier Norwegian will launch new flights to Malta from Oslo and Copenhagen as part of its 2010 summer schedule.
The airline will also introduce flights to Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Sardinia from Copenhagen, all of which will take effect at the beginning of May.
By the end of March and beginning of April, Norwegian also plans to establish flights to Athens and Palermo from Stockholm.
In addition, the carrier’s customers have requested the establishment of a domestic route between Bergen and Tromso, something that will commence by March.
Daniel Skjeldam, Norwegian’s commercial director, explained that the airline is experiencing a "strong expansion" in the leisure market.
"The new direct routes from Stockholm and Copenhagen are newcomers next summer, and we believe that these destinations shall be just as well received in Sweden and Denmark as in Norway, where many of these holiday destinations are already part of the route programme," he said.
By the end of last year, Norwegian operated 170 routes to 87 destinations using its 40 aircraft.
