Norwegian to expand flights from Gatwick

New flights to Copenhagen, Oslo and four other cities will begin operating out of London Gatwick

Cheap flights carrier Norwegian is set to expand the number of routes operating between London Gatwick and Norway.

New flights to Copenhagen, Oslo and four other cities will begin operating out of London Gatwick from the end of March 2009.

The new services have been welcomed by commercial director at the airport Mike Luddy.

He said: "This strengthens our growing route network to the Nordic region and provides our customers with yet more choice from London Gatwick.

"We look forward to welcoming passengers of Norwegian on their programme which is operating almost sixty flights a week."

New flights to Oslo will depart three-times per day, while Copenhagen will receive two daily services.

Daily flights to Bergen, Stavanger and Aalborg will also be offered, while two services per week will be offered between Gatwick and Tromso.

Norwegian welcomed more than nine million passengers on to its aeroplanes in 2008, with total passenger traffic increasing by 20 percent compared to 2007.
