US Airways has announced plans to launch new non-stop flights to Honolulu, Hawaii from Charlotte, North Carolina.
The route is due to be opened on Thursday, December 17th 2009, and will be operated all-year-round on a daily basis.
Flights to Honolulu from Charlotte will take off at 09:45 local time, while the return leg of the journey is scheduled for 17:45.
According to US Airways’ senior vice president for marketing and planning Andrew Nocella, there is likely to be healthy demand for the new offering, which will be serviced by Boeing 767 aircraft.
"Hawaii is one of US Airways’ most popular vacation destinations," he commented.
"We’re pleased to add another flight and give our customers on the east coast easy access to Honolulu and the Island of Oahu."
The airline also broke new ground earlier this year when it introduced its first ever flights to Oslo, Norway.
Flights to Birmingham, UK and Tel Aviv, Israel have also been introduced this year, affording US Airways customers a choice of 23 transatlantic destinations this summer.
