Jet Airways has launched new flights to Hong Kong from Delhi using wide-body Airbus 330-200 aircraft.
It is the carrier’s second route to Hong Kong from India following the introduction of its Mumbai service, with the event marked by a ceremony at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Jet Airways chief executive officer Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said the airline is "delighted" to offer daily flights between Hong Kong and the Indian capital.
"There continues to remain a strong demand for quality services on the Delhi-Hong Kong sector on account of the latter’s popularity as a leading global business and leisure destination," he commented.
The launch of the route on October 1st coincided with China National Day, which marks the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949.
On the same day Jet Airways Konnect, Jet’s cheap flights brand, began operating 180 daily routes across India.
This is thanks to the introduction of a number of new flights, including increased services between Kolkata and Delhi, and Mumbai and Bengaluru.
