Continental Airlines is launching new flights to Hawaii and increasing its number of flights on an existing Hawaiian route.
The carrier will introduce flights to Maui from Los Angeles and Honolulu from Orange County, while adding a second daily service on its Los Angeles to Honolulu route.
Jim Compton, Continental’s executive vice president for marketing, said that the airline is "pleased" to offer customers additional travel options to the island state.
"The flights will provide increased convenience to travellers and will complement routes provided by future Star Alliance partners," he commented.
Daily flights to Maui’s Kahului Airport will operate from Los Angeles International Airport, while Continental’s route between Orange County’s John Wayne Airport and Honolulu International Airport will operate on an initial four-times-weekly basis.
The carrier also offers daily flights to Hawaii from New York, Houston and Guam.
Elsewhere, Continental recently moved its flights departing from Tokyo to the south wing of Terminal 1 at Narita International Airport.
