Air India launches new daily flights to Frankfurt from Ahmedabad today (June 1st).
Passengers travelling from India can now reach Germany’s financial capital in just nine hours and 15 minutes, which is a significant reduction from the previous 12 hours and 50 minutes following a stop-off in Mumbai.
The new route, which is being operated on a Boeing 747-400 aircraft, will allow Frankfurt-bound passengers to make onward connections to Newark and Chicago from Air India’s new German hub.
Air India said that, as well as benefiting Ahmedabad-based passengers, the route would prove attractive for people living in the nearby cities of Anand, Nadiad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhuj and Bhavnagar.
The carrier is also launching a daily flight to London from Ahmedabad via Mumia today, which will be operated on a brand new Boeing 777 aircraft.
Air India, which is Asia’s 16th largest airline, operates flights to 28 destinations around the world. It is expected to join the Star Alliance next year.
