Eastern Airways will launch early morning flights to Newcastle from Southampton International Airport on July 6th.
The year-round service will take off from Southampton at 07:00 before arriving in the north-east at 08:50.
A second departure will leave the south coast at 16:05 and land in Newcastle at 17:25.
Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer Chris Holliday explained that there was a "gap in the market" for early morning departures to the north-east city.
"Adjusting the timings allows our Southampton passengers to arrive in Newcastle city centre before 09:00 and helps maximise their time in the north-east," he said.
People travelling on the route can check-in just 30 minutes before departure, with the fast security channels at both airports ensuring that passengers won’t experience any undue delay.
Eastern Airways is launching new flights to Aberdeen and Southampton from Liverpool John Lennon Airport on the same day, while flights to Leeds Bradford will also be introduced from the Hampshire airport.
