Jet Airways has launched new flights to Dubai from the south Indian city of Hyderabad.
The inaugural flight between the two cities took off yesterday (August 16th) and represents the airline’s first international flight from Hyderabad.
Operated using a Boeing 737-800, the flight takes off at 09:35 (local time) before touching down in the emirate at 11:50 (local time).
Jet Airways chief commercial officer Sudheer Raghavan said he was "confident" that the new route would prove to be a success.
"With the growing popularity of Dubai as a leading business and leisure destination, there has been an increasing demand for enhanced air connectivity to the Gulf from southern India," he commented.
Hyderabad, which is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, is one of the country’s administrative, financial and economic hubs, and features a mix of traditional India and modernity.
Earlier this month, Jet Airways launched flights to Riyadh from India’s commercial capital, Mumbai.
The carrier also flies to Dubai from Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai.
