Brits travelling on cheap flights to Madrid will be afforded easier access to the city centre from Barajas Airport thanks to a new express bus service.
The new Airport Express service will commence in October. Running 24 hours a day on every day of the year, it will cover the 22km route in approximately 40 minutes.
Estimates have predicted that Airport Express will accommodate around 60,000 passengers a month, with services departing every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes at night.
Bus services will be especially beneficial to British travellers travelling on cheap flights. Not only will signs be printed in both Spanish and English, the fact that it runs all day and night means passengers needn’t worry about accessing Madrid city centre.
The service will terminate at Barajas’ T4 airport terminal, although it will also call at T1 and T2.
Madrid Barajas is the world’s 11th busiest airport and the fourth-busiest in Europe. Last year, it accommodated almost 48.3 million passengers.
