Cheap flights airline easyJet has announced a new route from London Gatwick to the Swiss city of Basel.
The carrier launched flights to Basel from London this week as part of expansion plans at both Gatwick and London Luton.
Flights to Basel will run from now until March 2009, with the route expected to prove popular with both business and leisure passengers.
David Osborne, general manager of easyJet UK, said: "easyJet has seen an increase of 23 new routes from London Gatwick 2008, taking the total number of routes on offer from the airport to 65.
"Basel will offer a direct link for many business travellers to the city, with the independent traveller taking advantage of Basel’s unique European location to explore the three surrounding countries."
The airline’s winter schedule from the two London airports will also include new flights from Gatwick to Lyon in France and to the Finnish city of Helsinki.
Flights will be available from November and run until March, with easyJet reinstating flights to Turin and Grenoble from Luton in time for the ski season.
