bmi is set to launch new flights to Moscow from London as part of its winter schedule.
Services to Moscow Domodedovo will depart from London’s Heathrow Airport on a daily basis.
The new flights are an extension of the carrier’s agreement with Russian carrier Transaero, which is also expected to increase its daily flights to London airports.
Peter Spencer, bmi managing director, explained that the new flights had long been planned by the airline.
He said: "Since launching the route nearly two years ago we have experienced strong growth, and feel introducing an extra return flight combined with our market leading business class cabin we can offer business customers a real alternative."
Meanwhile, the carrier’s cheap flights offshoot, bmibaby, recently announced that it is to cancel early morning routes between Jersey and the London hub from October 26th.
The subsidiary cited low demand and high fuel prices as the reasons for the flight cuts.
