Cheap flights carrier Manx2 has enjoyed an increase in the number of passengers travelling on its route between Blackpool and the Isle of Man.
Releasing figures yesterday (January 27th), the airline reported a 17 percent increase in bookings for the first two weeks of this year compared to the same period in 2008.
Commenting on the success of the flight, Manx2’s communications director James Filleul said that the first two weeks of the year were "crucial" because it is when many holidaymakers choose to book their travels.
"Both the Isle of Man and Blackpool have a lot to offer people from shopping to sight seeing, active breaks or relaxing in a luxury hotel," he said.
"It’s great to have a positive story to tell at the moment, particularly in aviation, and we hope that these positive booking figures will herald a good year".
Manx2 offers regular flights between the Isle of Man, Blackpool and Belfast.
The carrier announced in November that it planned to expand its fleet of aircraft at its Isle of Man base.
