There is more for those on city breaks in Paris to do than the main attractions thanks to the French capital’s hosting of more than 140 museums.
This is the recommendation from Veronique Potelet Anty of the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, who explained that Paris has "really good offerings" for the seasoned visitor, although said that the Eiffel Tower is top of most tourists’ lists.
"There are a lot of new projects proposed by agencies like behind-the-scene tours in theatres or at the Eiffel Tower," she commented.
Ms Potelet went on to say that couples on Paris city breaks can embark on gastronomy tours of visit one of the city’s lesser-known museums.
"The City Hall of Paris, for example, owns around 50 museums, which are really tiny…and have permanent collections."
According to figures from the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, 6.6 million people visited the Eiffel Tower last year, a 4.8 percent decline from 2008’s total.
