More Brits are choosing to book flights to ski resorts, according to new figures from the Ski Club of Great Britain.
The club’s annual Snowsports Analysis revealed that 1.35 million people are taking winter sports holidays away from the UK, with that figure rising year-on-year.
Commenting on the findings, Ski Club chief executive officer Caroline Stuart-Taylor told travelmole.com: "We are not surprised that the overall snow sports market has risen again after an excellent snow year and the continued resilience of the snow sports market."
Ms Stuart-Taylor added that more people are turning to the internet to research and book their flights to European ski resorts.
According to the findings, France remained skiers’ top choice destination, taking 43 percent of the market.
A recent report by the Post Office revealed that eastern Europe was proving an increasingly popular skiing destination because of rising prices in the US. Romania was named as the best value-for-money ski destination, followed by Slovakia and Bulgaria.
