Monarch launches Cyprus routes

Budget airline Monarch is to bolster its presence at London and Manchester airports by offering new regular flights to Cyprus.

Budget airline Monarch is to bolster its presence at London Gatwick and Manchester airports by offering new regular flights to Cyprus.

With much competition from other low cost carriers travelling to the popular Mediterranean island, Monarch announced some 14 scheduled flights per week, departing the UK for Cypriot city Larnaca.

The airline is already a market leader in the provision of flights to Spain and the Balearics, with new flights also announced between London Gatwick and Mahon in Menorca.

Managing director of Monarch, Liz Savage said: "The success of Monarch’s scheduled flights to Larnaca and Menorca this summer has been phenomenal and we are delighted to be expanding our network to offer more great fares to passengers travelling from Manchester and Gatwick."

Flights from London Gatwick to Menorca and Larnaca start in mid-March, the Manchester to Larnaca flights start in May.
