The inaugural flight, which took off yesterday (March 29th), took the total number of scheduled flights operated by the airline to Larnaca to 21 a week.
Passengers travelling with Monarch to the Cypriot city can also fly from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester airports.
Liz Savage, managing director of Monarch flights and holidays, said the airline is "delighted" to be expanding its network from Birmingham.
"There has been huge demand from our Midlands based customers for scheduled flights to Cyprus since we began services from London in 2007, and the launch of these new flights from Birmingham now gives customers a greater choice of direct flights and low fares," she said.
Ms Savage added that the airline has received 10,000 advanced bookings for the flight, with the airline having transported 175,000 passengers to Cyprus last year.
Monarch Airlines was voted Best Charter Airline in January’s Travel Weekly Globe Awards, having also been shortlisted in the Best Scheduled Airline category.
