CityJet is celebrating the 25,000th passenger to travel on its flights to Nantes from London City Airport.
Since its launch last April, the route has seen a steady rise in traveller numbers and is now an important part of Air France’s Irish subsidiary’s flight network.
Paul Minton was named as the landmark passenger. He received two complimentary tickets from London City Airport sales director Bernard Lavelle and Laurent Petitmangin, CityJet’s head of sales and marketing.
"We are really pleased to have reached our 12 month target of 25,000 passengers on the Nantes route in just ten months," explained CityJet chief executive officer Geoffrey O’Byrne.
"To have done so in such tough trading conditions is a testament to the tenacity of everyone on the CityJet team who has helped make this a success."
The airline operated two daily flights to Nantes from the Docklands airport, which serves as a vital link for both business and leisure passengers.
Earlier this month, readers of Wanderlust magazine voted London City the Top UK Airport for the fifth year in a row.
