Couples booking flights to Marrakech ahead of Valentine’s Day are guaranteeing themselves a value-for-money break.
This is according to travel website simonseeks.com, which highlighted the Red City’s attractiveness and affordability.
"You do not have to pay for things in euros which are very expensive for British people at the moment," explained Nick Trend, the website’s editorial assistant.
He went on to say that a Nile cruise is another option for British couples owing to their "very good value", while February is the "perfect time of year" to travel along what is regarded as the world’s longest river.
Simonseeks.com also predicts that fewer Brits will be booking flights to Paris for a romantic weekend because many couples are "hungry" to try somewhere else after visiting the French capital two or three times.
Concierge.com’s recently published ‘It List 2010′ placed Marrakech at the top of travellers’ wish lists for the next 12 months.
The closest a European city came to the list was Venice, which achieved fifth place.
