Manchester Airport will celebrate 70 years of service later this month.
The north-west terminal, which offers cheap flights to several destinations in the UK and Europe, will host a series of events to mark the milestone.
Passengers will be able to enjoy the M Fest family day, while dignitaries will be invited to an anniversary dinner.
Other high points of the birthday year will include the completion of the new Concorde hangar and the ongoing redevelopment of both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Andrew Cornish, managing director of the airport, said: "Manchester Airport has a long and fascinating history and we’re proud to be celebrating our 70th anniversary.
"The airport has changed beyond recognition from those early days and we are constantly innovating and improving Manchester Airport to make sure that we give our passengers what they want."
The redevelopment of Terminal 1 recently saw a new check-in facility opened on the ground floor. Cheap flight airlines Aer Arann, Air Berlin, Aurigny Air Services, Icelandair, Jet2, Olympic Airlines, Ryanair and Lufthansa’s Swiss International Airlines all relocated to the new area in May.
