Manchester Airport has demonstrated its commitment to passengers by becoming the first airport to be shortlisted for the National Customer Service Awards.
The awards, which are recognised as the benchmark for excellence within the UK’s customer service industry, are highly regarded in the business sector and have now entered their tenth year.
Manchester Airport is in the running for three awards – the Best use of Technology Award, Front Line Customer Service Team of the Year and Young Customer Service Professional of the Year.
Sarah Barrett, the airport’s head of customer experience, said it was "great" that it had been nominated for the awards.
"This announcement show a positive move towards us becoming a more customer focused business and that we are dedicated to providing first class service to our customers and it is brilliant that we have been recognised for this commitment," she commented.
The airport will face a panel of judges in October before the awards ceremony is held in London in December.
Cheap flights carrier Jet2.com will launch new flights to Madeira from Manchester on May 3rd next year.
