Travellers catching flights within New Zealand will now be able to take advantage of the launch of a new Jetstar domestic service, which takes over the routes of its parent company Qantas today (June 10th).
Offering cheap flights on a number of domestic routes, the budget airline’s expansion is expected to be welcome news for New Zealanders looking to travel without breaking the bank.
Jetstar’s contemporary A320 fleet will service a range of routes while offering great value for money.
Auckland Airport chief executive Simon Moutter commented: "We are very pleased to see Jetstar commence their domestic air services in New Zealand.
"Each air service in New Zealand makes a vital contribution to the tourism industry and our national economy."
He added that the introduction of the cheap flights carrier will be a boost to the budget traveller in New Zealand who is looking for a great value alternative.
Wellington Airport greeted the arrival of the first Jetstar flight by creating a giant water arch through which the plane flew.
