Jet2.com to launch flights to Majorca from Scotland

Cheap flights carrier Jet2.com will introduce new flights to Majorca from Edinburgh as part of its 2010 summer schedule.

The largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands is the airline’s 12th destination from the Scottish capital, with twice-weekly departures scheduled to commence on June 26th.

In addition, Jet2.com will increase its frequency of flights to Ibiza with three weekly services after experiencing an "overwhelming" demand from passengers.

Commenting on Majorca’s appeal, a Jet2.com statement said: "[It] not only boasts warm weather and great beaches, it also has plenty of sightseeing from La Seu, the stunning 14th century Gothic Cathedral to museums and art galleries.

"The island is also filled with fun activities from kayaking, rock climbing and hiking in the picturesque Tramuntana Mountains."

Majorca is also home to an exciting, varied nightlife, with Magaluf and Palma Nova considered to be the party hotspots.

Elsewhere, Jet2.com will double the number of its flights to Tel Aviv from Manchester next month.

This is in light of increased demand from passengers, with approximately 10,000 people travelling on the route between May and December last year.
