1. Book a room at Mirage Las Vegas
The Mirage makes for a refreshing break when you’re in Vegas – their palm-fringed pool makes for quite the oasis. Book a suite with your own living room, book a helicopter tour from the hotel (there are 3,000 to choose from) or watch LOVE from Cirque du Soleil in the hotel theatre!
2. Discover Red Rock Canyon
If the bright lights, shows, and cocktails are getting a little overwhelming, a hike through the desert will bring you back down to Earth – or rather, away from it. The scenes from Red Rock Canyon could be taken from the surface of Mars. Take the 13-mile scenic drive in a Jeep to make the most of it, or choose from one of the trails around Calico Hills to really work up a sweat.
3. Go to the pub (yes, really!)
Robert Irvine’s Public House has just opened at the Tropicana Las Vegas, and the menu is inspired by the chef’s own travels around the world. Enjoy a Chopped Kale salad, a Fondue Burger or go for a classic Steak and Guinness pie in traditional pub surroundings. As with all good pubs, there’s an extensive beer menu too.
4. Get starry-eyed in the Neon Museum
Pay homage to Vegas’ shows and casinos without the late night with a tour through the Neon Museum of Las Vegas – a ‘boneyard’ of previously illuminated neon signs denoting the best tours, shows and hotels of Las Vegas. Make sure to check it out at night if you’re there during summer, as the once prized neons light up for the daily guided tours.
5. Break a sweat in a spa
It’s hard to stay healthy whilst traveling, but the spa at ARIA makes it a little easier with full body massages, TRX classes and yoga studios on site. The spa at Encore has it’s own Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award, and The Linq creates excellent pampering packages if you’re heading out for a friends engagement or birthday.
6. Brunch at Border Grill at Mandalay Bay
Vegas has a great nightlife, and with great nightlife, comes great breakfasts. Cinnamon roll pancakes, Wasabi Bloody Mary’s and Peruvian shrimp are on the menu at Sunday brunch at Border Grill at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Coincide a visit to take advantage of the Bloody Mary bar.
7. Zipline through downtown Las Vegas
The videos in your newsfeed speak for themselves, now it’s time to see what the fuss is about. Zipline through Downtown with the Slotzilla zipline – you’ll be dispensed from a giant fruit machine along a zipline through 5 blocks of Vegas nightlife, ending at the Golden Gate. Kudos if you do the zipline in a super hero costume.
8. Shop at with The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian | The Palazzo
Why not go on a shopping spree around The Grand Canal, before or after you take a gondola cruise too? There is 500,000 sq ft of retailers, bars and restaurants to hop between on any major shopping spree (Banana Republic, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Burberry to name a few). There’s a mix between high end and high street, making it one of the easiest places for everyone to head on a spending spree!
9. Level Up at MGM Grand
Go old school with a night of classic arcade games, pool and foosball at Level Up. This is also one of the best places to test out virtual reality games – and you can do it at any hour of the day as it’s 24 hours!
10. Robotic Bar at The Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood
Have you ever seen a Robot make a drink before? If not, make a stop in the Robotic Bar at Planet Hollywood! It’s a truly high tech experience taking classic cocktails to the next level. Check out #thetipsyrobot Instagram to see it in action.
