Thomson and First Choice will increase its number of flights to Monastir in Tunisia from Robin Hood Airport next summer.
Despite the route having only been launched two months ago, the holiday company has reacted to strong demand from Doncaster and Sheffield-based travellers by launching an extra weekly flight to the north African destination, which will run between May 23rd and October 31st.
In addition, Thomson and First Choice will operate an additional weekly flight to the Turkish destination of Dalaman.
Robin Hood Airport’s marketing and communications manager Jodi Stow said that the extra flights are "great news" for the airport and will be a "welcome boost" for travellers from across the region.
"We work closely with Thomson and First Choice and are pleased that strong early bookings have created the demand for these extra flights," she commented.
"We have found that people like to book early to travel from Doncaster Sheffield Airport to guarantee the convenience of being able to fly from their local airport."
From July 2010, cheap flights carrier Wizz Air will reintroduce flights to Wroclaw in Poland from the airport.
