Budget hotels in Dubai

Opting for a cheap hotel in Dubai doesn’t mean sacrificing quality. Here’s our pick of the best Dubai hotel deals out there…

Mövenpick Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai

The 396 goregous rooms at this hotel were all inspired by Arab explorer Ibn Battuta, and it shows; beautiful latticework screens divide bedrooms from bathrooms, the latter being decorated with traditional lanterns and mosaic murals. There’s a complimentary shuttle service to nearby attractions (including the Mall of the Emirates and the Palm Jumeirah) but there are plenty of reasons to stay put, including eight restaurants and bars and a beautiful rooftop swimming pool.

Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Media City

The Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Media is regarded as one of the best hotels in Dubai for business travellers – it’s just a short walk to the business areas of Media City, Internet City and Knowledge Village – but it’s ideal for visitors, too. Swarovski chandeliers, beautifully designed rooms and a gorgeous rooftop pool give this place a boutique hotel feel, and we love the nightly happy hour at the super stylish Icon bar. There are three restaurants, one of which has a fantastic outdoor terrace – the perfect spot from which to admire Dubai’s skyline. Need more tips on how to holiday in Dubai on a budget? Pullman Jumeirah Lakes Towers Hotel & Residence

Budget doesn’t mean basic as this 296-room hotel, which is next door to Dubai’s Marina Mall. There are four restaurants but our favourite is Manzoni, where you’ll find a wood-fired pizza oven and an open kitchen. The rooftop pool is the perfect spot to admire the super yachts in the marina below – or you can work off all that pizza with a session at the gym, where the floor-to-ceiling windows and spectacular views make working out significantly less painful.

Mid-range and boutique hotels in Dubai

Get a more comfortable stay for only a few extra pounds a night with an affordable mid-range Dubai hotel.

The Address Dubai Marina

This is one of the best hotels in Dubai if you’re planning on hitting the Emirate’s biggest malls – there’s a direct pedestrian link to Dubai Marina Mall. Head to the fourth floor infinity pool to get the best views as the hotel’s surrounded by some of Dubai’s tallest skyscrapers. The 200 rooms all have marina views and spacious balconies, and they’re all beautifully designed. When hunger pangs strike there are several restaurants and bars to choose from, but for the best views grab a seat on the outdoor terrace at Mazina on the ground floor.

The Media Rotana Barsha

If you’re looking for a hotel in Dubai which offers easy access to the main attractions, this is the place for you. It’s just a 30 minute drive from the airport and even closer to Dubai’s main attractions – the Emirates Golf Course and the Mall of Dubai are within walking distance, and the Palm Jumeirah and the Marina Walk are a ten-minute drive away. It’s one of Dubai’s larger mid-range hotels, with 536 rooms, 16 meeting rooms and five restaurants. Travelling with kids? Drop the little ones off at the Flipper Kids club while you relax in the sauna or enjoy a massage at the hotel’s spa.

Radisson Blu Dubai Marina

If you appreciate a good view, you’ll love this next hotel. Overlooking the Persian Gulf, but with a good eyeful of some of Dubai’s most famous architectural masterpieces, including the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. The Jumeirah Beach Walk is 500 metres from the hotel, and there’s a Metro station next door, although you can also take advantage of ferry, taxi and bus shuttle services. The hotel’s signature restaurant is Mamma Mia, where you’ll find a 25 page menu filled with Italian cuisine.

Luxury five star hotels in Dubai

Treat yourself at some of the most opulent hotels in Dubai and experience the real high life – even if it’s just for a night!

Palazzo Versace Dubai

If money’s no object, check in to this breathtaking Dubai hotel, in the historic Dubai Creek and Cultural Village area. The designers were apparently inspired by Neoclassical architecture, so expect Grecian décor, high ceilings and fountain-filled gardens. Every single piece of furniture in this 5 star hotel was crafted by the House of Versace (this isn’t the place to spill that espresso) and if you book the Imperial Suite, you’ll get your own outdoor pool, walk-in wardrobe and private kitchen.

Armani Hotel Dubai

Another designer crash pad is the 160 room Armani Hotel, which occupies 11 floors of the Burj Khalifa. It’s the first hotel to be designed by Giorgio Armani and every element – from the food in the restaurant to the taps in the bathrooms – was selected by the man himself. And he certainly had his work cut out, because there are seven restaurants to dine in and a 12,000 square-foot spa. Perhaps unsurprisingly, there’s an Armani boutique at the hotel, although this is no ordinary shop; it’s the only place in Dubai where you can browse the Giorgio Armani Privé collection.

Madinat Jumeirah

Madinat Jumeirah comprises two properties: Jumeirah Al Qasr and Jumeirah Mina A’ Salam, and they’re two of the best hotels in Dubai. You’ll find everything you need at the Madinat, which has over 40 restaurants and bars, two ballrooms, an arena, an amphitheatre and a shopping centre. A network of waterways – complete with traditional Abra boats – connects the different areas, but you can also use one of the Madinat’s buggies to get around. The hotel, which has its own private beach, is adjacent to the Burj Al Arab – more widely know as the only 7 star hotel in Dubai – and the Wild Wadi Waterpark.

Best hotels on the beach in Dubai

Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa

One of the most spectacular hotels in Dubai, this luxury resort can be found on The Palm. Make sure you’ve shopped til dropped and ogled the enormous aquarium at the Dubai Mall before bunking up here, because as soon as you step through the door at this hotel you won’t want to leave – and there’s no reason to. There’s a private beach, an enormous, 28 treatment room spa, five restaurants (including a deli and a steakhouse), a white sand beach and a library. Our tip? After a night on the dance floor at the hotel’s nightclub, 2Liv Dubai, soothe away any aches and pains with a poolside bamboo massage. If you love a good pamper, our guide to Asia’s best spas might just help you decide where you take your next holiday.

Amwaj Rotana Jumeirah Beach

Check into this 301 room budget hotel and you’ll enjoy easy access to both Jumeirah Beach and the retail and leisure strip known as The Walk. It’s a fantastic family hotel – the Beach Mall water park and the Dubai Marina Promenade are just a few metres away, and there are four dining options. If you’re after some retail therapy, make use of the Rotana’s complimentary shuttle service, which connects to the city’s biggest shopping centres, including the Mall of the Emirates and the Dubai Mall, home to the largest aquarium in the Middle East.

Holiday Inn Express Jumeirah

Choosing a cheap Dubai hotel doesn’t mean roughing it at this particular Holiday Inn. Although it’s popular with business travellers – there’s a 24 hour self-service business centre and two large meeting rooms – the complimentary shuttle to nearby Jumeirah Beach makes it a great base if you’re here on holiday and want to spend most of your time on the sandy stuff. The lobby bar, with its colourful lanterns and Arabic-inspired design, is a wonderful spot for a pre-dinner drink.
