Hawaiian Airlines has been ranked number one in January’s Air Travel Consumer Report by the US department of transportation.
The airline finished ahead of its competitors in terms on the number of flights arriving and departing on time, the number of flight cancellations and the lowest number of misplaced bags.
Commenting on the report, a Hawaiian Airlines statement said: "Hawaiian led all airlines with 90.8 percent of its flights arriving on schedule during January, exceeding the industry average of 77 percent by 13.8 percentage points."
Just 30 of the airline’s 6,273 flights were cancelled over the course of the month, allowing Hawaiian to achieve an industry-best score of 0.5 percent.
Furthermore, it achieved top spot in terms of how many of its passengers’ bags were misplaced, with an average of 2.01 reports for every 1,000 passengers.
Last week the airline announced that it had reached a tentative agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers’ clerical division over increased compensation and flexibility for its employees.
