Scottish cheap flights airline Flyglobespan has announced a new service connecting Aberdeen to the Balearic island of Ibiza.
Flights to Ibiza will start at Aberdeen Airport next summer. The flights will run each Saturday between June and August.
Rick Green, chief executive of the airline, expects the new service to be as popular as existing Flyglobespan flights from Edinburgh to the Mediterranean destination.
He told the Aberdeen Press and Journal that this new route could be one of several flying from the airport next summer.
"We are in negotiations with Aberdeen Airport and are looking at some exciting new opportunities," he explained.
The service was welcomed by airport manager Kevin Brown, who said: "At a particularly difficult time for the aviation industry, I am delighted Flyglobespan are seeking to increase the destinations they currently serve from Aberdeen."
Flyglobespan recently increased its offerings at Edinburgh with new flights to Croatia.
The flights to Dubrovnik will run once a week and represent the first direct link between the Scottish capital and the Croatian city.
