Regional airline Flybe will launch additional flights to Avignon from Southampton this winter.
An additional Saturday service will complement the existing Wednesday flight from October 24th and will remain operational throughout the winter months.
This is to keep up the "unprecedented" demand the airline has experienced on the route, such is the popularity of the South of France with British holidaymakers.
Commenting on the route’s expansion, Mike Rutter, Flybe’s chief commercial officer, said: "We recognise the importance of this popular route for our customers and we are pleased to be able to respond to the demand by offering travellers the extended option to take advantage of the winter warmth."
Mr Rutter went on to say that the carrier understands the importance of maintaining a choice for travellers.
The introduction of the Saturday service coincides with the beginning of the half-term holidays, meaning that flights to Avignon are likely to be popular among families.
Earlier this month, Flybe announced the second phase of its 2010 summer schedule, which features a number of flights across the UK and Europe.
