Canadian Affair will reintroduce weekly flights to Toronto from Exeter Airport next summer.
The route will take effect on May 19th and remain in operation until September 19th, with the service due to enter its 22nd year.
Flights will be operated using an Air Transat wide-bodied A310 aircraft, with passengers having the choice of two classes.
Jamie Christon, Exeter Airport’s managing director, said that confirmation that the flights will go ahead is "wonderful news" both for the airport and for south-west travellers.
"The 17th year with Air Transat takes our total for the Toronto link to 22 and this clearly demonstrates that Exeter can support a long haul route," he commented.
"We are looking forward to the familiar sight of the A310 aircraft’s return next summer and seeing our south-west passengers jetting off to a breathtaking part of the world."
More than 12,000 passengers used the south-west airport over the August bank holiday weekend, with the most popular routes being flights to Dalaman and Bodrum in Turkey.
