Families are booking flights to Greece, Portugal and Cyprus in large numbers, a leading accommodation provider has said.
According to Emma Richings, senior product manager of Kids in the Med, said that families’ top holiday priorities were a sandy beach, a kid’s club, a swimming pool and activities such as golf, tennis and watersports.
"Our most popular destinations haven’t changed," she commented.
"Greece, Cyprus and Portugal remain the favourites. Not only are they well known family destinations close to home, but the properties have offered great value for money."
Ms Richings was responding to a survey by Teletext Holidays, which revealed that 80 percent of children say their parents sometimes or always help them choose their holiday destination.
Just over a fifth (21.6 percent) said they had no say in the family’s choice of holiday.
Ms Richings went on to say that children wanted to be part of the decision-making process because they wanted to make sure that they wouldn’t be bored while away with the family.
