Cheap flights carrier easyJet is introducing new flights to Hamburg and Dusseldorf from London Gatwick today (February 2nd).
They are the first of 70 new routes being launched across the airline’s European route network over the next six months.
Once they have all been implemented, easyJet will operate more than 500 routes across Europe, the Middle East and north Africa.
Andy Harrison, chief executive of easyJet, said the carrier is continuing to attract customers because its flights land at "the most convenient airports".
"Despite the challenging economic conditions, we will grow 10 percent and will carry 50 million passengers this year on over 500 routes," he explained.
"The 70 new routes we will launch in the coming months will reinforce our position as Europe’s number one air transport network."
Further easyJet route announcements are expected in the next few weeks.
This spring, the airline will launch four new flights to Turkey and the Greek islands from its Gatwick base.
