Twice-weekly flights to Fiji from Honolulu and Guam have been launched by Continental Airlines and will commence in time for the Christmas holidays.
Due to begin operation on December 18th, the new routes will offer connections from the US mainland, Japan and Micronesia to the Fijian town of Nadi.
The service will depart from Guam’s AB Won Pat International Airport on Mondays and Fridays, with return flights leaving Nadi International Airport on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Flights to Nadi from Honolulu International Airport will operate on Mondays and Fridays, with returns on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Continental’s executive vice president of marketing Jim Compton said: "We are pleased to add Nadi to our portfolio of Pacific destinations.
"Fiji is a popular vacation spot that attracts visitors from around the world and we see a strong demand for leisure travel to the area."
The US airline reported this week that it enjoyed a high load factor in July. Continental filled 87.3 percent of its seats during the month, up from 3.1 percent last year.
