Eastern Airways will launch new flights to Durham Tees Valley Airport from Southampton International Airport next month.
From November 2nd, the regional airline will launch two flights each weekday to the north-east airport, a service that will be primarily aimed at business travellers.
Flights depart from the south coast at 09:10 GMT and 19:20 and arrive in Durham at 10:55 and 21:05 respectively.
Services take off from the north-east at 06:45 GMT and 16:55 and land in Southampton at 08:40 and 18:50.
Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer Chris Holliday said the route will be the fastest link between the Tees Valley and Hampshire regions.
"Business travellers can save valuable time by returning on the same day," he commented.
There are a number of companies in and around Hampshire with links in the Tees Valley, including those in the chemical, pharmaceutical, energy and manufacturing sectors.
More than 23,000 people flew from Southampton over the August bank holiday weekend, BAA figures recently revealed.
