Qatar Airways has commenced flights to Copenhagen from Doha as part of the second leg of its 2010 expansion programme.
Flight QR 097 arrived in the Danish capital yesterday (March 30th) morning following its non-stop journey from Qatar.
The airline is operating four flights to Copenhagen every week and is currently the only in the Gulf region offering services to Scandinavia.
Last Sunday (March 28th), Qatar Airways introduced additional cheap flights to Stockholm from Doha, further reinforcing its commitment to the region.
Akbar Al Baker, the carrier’s chief executive officer, said this week had marked a "significant expansion" for the airline.
"The introduction of flights to Copenhagen opens up a brand new opportunity for business and leisure travellers from Denmark and the surrounding Nordic countries to the Middle East and beyond," he commented.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways will launch flights to Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires from Doha on June 24th, the carrier’s first routes to South America.
