UK airports’ most punctual airline is bmi Regional, new figures from the Civil Aviation Authority have revealed.
Some 87.7 percent of the carrier’s 3,762 flights between January and March this year departed on time – putting it first in the group of 35 scheduled airlines.
The figures, which were obtained from flightontime.info, come after bmi Regional was named the UK’s most punctual scheduled airline over the course of last year.
Stewart Adams, the carrier’s managing director, said its aim is to "run a punctual and efficient operation every day of the week".
"Our business and leisure customers need to know that their airline gets them to their destination on time and in comfort, something we intend to continue doing in the months and years ahead," he commented.
According to the airline, the results are particularly impressive given the particularly bad weather in the UK this winter.
Last Sunday (August 1st), bmi began using larger aircraft on its flights to Aberdeen from London Heathrow, which increased the number of seats on the route by almost 3,000 a week.
