An agreement has been struck between two travel technology providers to allow Travel Management Companies (TMCs) to benefit from a better integrated system for airfare pricing and shopping.
Distribution outlet Farelogix will combine its FLX Platform with ITA Software’s QPX System in a bid to add ITA’s airfare pricing and shopping capacity to Farelogix’s multi-source content distribution solution. It was claimed that TMCs would benefit from a new service that embellishes FLX Platform’s supplier-direct connections, Global Distribution System (GDS) options and other travel inventory sources with ITA’s huge flight search capacity.
Jim Davidson, chief executive of Farelogix, said: "The TMCs we work with have identified ITA’s QPX as a valuable content source, making it a logical and straight-forward decision to deliver this capability to our customers. Our customers demand independence, choice, and flexibility when it comes to content sourcing and optimisation. Our goal is to give our customers complete control in their sourcing requirements, providing them with a definite competitive advantage."
ITA Software’s chief commercial officer, Gianni Marostica, added that flexible sourcing was key to TMCs achieving customer satisfaction and looked forward to combing what he claimed were "highly complementary systems".
