Expedia provides Sky with flight booking service

Passengers will be able to book flights on Sky's new travel portal after it signed a deal with Expedia Distributions.

Passengers will be able to book flights on Sky’s new travel portal after it signed a deal with Expedia Distributions – the firm which will be providing the service.

The agreement means that those browsing the Sky travel site will be able to reserve airline tickets as well as book hire cars and reserve hotel rooms.

Speaking about the partnership, BSkyB online business unit managing director Andy Jonesco said: "We want to work with those travel partners like Expedia who have innovative and distinctive travel offers as well as the content that travellers value."

As well as joining forces with Expedia Distributions, Sky has signed a deal with TripAdvisor which will provide hotel reviews, features and destination ratings for the site.

It marks the first time Expedia and TripAdvisor have worked side by side for a third party website. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Expedia Distributions would be joining forces with racing giant Formula 1 to provide those attending Grand Prix events with an easy way to book their travel.
