Half of all airline websites with transparency and pricing issues have now been corrected, according to an EU report.
A third of websites surveyed have had to be followed up over the past seven months to ensure there are no breaches of EU consumer law. Of the 226 websites found to be in breach in November 2007, 80 still had unresolved issues.
The EU consumer commissioner Meglena Kuneva said: "I intend to work with member states to do everything possible to wrap up this investigation by May 1st next year. I hope operators have now realised the determination of the commission to act on behalf of consumers where it is necessary."
The commission found that 700 million passengers booked their air travel online each year.
