New cheap flights to Finland have been announced by low-cost carrier easyJet.
The airline plans to launch flights to Helsinki from London Gatwick later this year.
Flights to Finland will start in November and operate on a daily basis between the London terminal and Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
Oliver Austin, easyJet spokesman, told Finnish newspaper Aamulehti that flights to Helsinki’s main airport forms part of a wider business plan to offer flights between larger European airports.
As well as branching out into the Finland flights market, easyJet has also announced its first domestic venture in Portugal.
The carrier will operate flights from Lisbon to Funchal and also increase its Spanish operations with flights to Sofia from Madrid.
This news follows last week’s announcement of flights to the Bulgarian capital from Manchester. Winter flights to Sofia will be added in December alongside flights to Geneva in a bid to cater to demand from passengers heading to each destination on ski holidays.
