More people could book flights to Dubai during the emirate’s 2009 Shopping Festival after the launch of a new campaign aimed at potential tourists.
Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) will launch the new initiative in the hope of attracting a swathe of new tourists to the region.
Plans include huge discounts on hotel room rates (from 40 to 60 percent) and reducing the cost of food and drinks by 25 percent.
The campaign will be launched on January 10th and will run until the middle of February, which coincides with the Dubai Shopping Festival 2009.
According to a DTCM press release: "Khalid Ahmed bin Sulayem, director general of DTCM, said that this campaign comes in the framework of promoting the emirate in all occasions and at all events throughout the year."
Wataniya Airways announced at the end of last month that it will operate its first scheduled flights to Dubai on January 24th.
Kuwait’s first luxury full service carrier will operate two daily flights to the emirate, with the airline having started selling tickets for the route in November.
