Skiers looking for a cultural destination this winter may head to Courchevel as the resort hosts a Dali exhibition.
This is according to Veronique Beulz, Courchevel Tourisme’s head of marketing and promotion, who said that "a lot of culture" will be on offer in the French Alps town during the forthcoming ski season.
"People will come to see the amazing sculptures. We are always trying to be different as a ski destination with our animation and our events," she explained.
Ms Beulz went on to say that Courchevel has a number of events scheduled this winter, including polo tournaments, an ice skating gala and fireworks, all of which may appeal to Brits who have booked flights to Geneva or Lyon, with both airports just two hours’ drive away.
Courchevel is known for being a complete winter sports destination, with a number of mechanical and air sports on offer in addition to winter sports.
However, recent figures from Skyscanner revealed a 154 percent increases in searches for flights to ski destinations in eastern Europe.
Some 65 percent of respondents to a Skyscanner survey said they planned on heading to a less expensive ski resort this year.
