CityJet will commence cheap flights to Deauville in Normandy from its London City Airport hub this summer.
The airline, which is part of the Air France-KLM group, will introduce services to the popular northern French holiday destination on June 24th, and the route will operate through the summer until September 27th.
It will be the first time that direct flights to the region are offered from the UK, with Deauville close to attractions including the Bayeux tapestry, Mont St Michel and Normandy’s beaches.
Geoffrey O’Byrne, CityJet’s chief executive officer, said Normandy is an area "immensely popular with British holidaymakers" and has a growing population of UK expats.
"The frequent service we’ll be offering will cater to that market as well as open up access to this stunning holiday region, with its beautiful beaches and countryside, to a wider audience," he explained.
Mr O’Byrne went on to say that passengers travelling on the route can benefit from the fast 15-minute check-in times in place at London City Airport.
In February, CityJet marked the 25,000th passenger to travel on its cheap flights to Nantes from the Docklands airport.
